The Site is appropriately screened from Lake Macdonald Drive.
The proposed works on-site are approximately 800 m from this
road and the view of the proposed extraction areas on Site from
this road is obscured by the riparian vegetation associated with
Six Mile Creek which will remain unaffected.
All extraction activities included as part of the proposed
development will be undertaken in a manner consistent with the
existing mining lease approvals over the land.
An Ecological Assessment Report (ATTACHMENT 6) has been
prepared for the Site, which provides an analysis of the ecological
values of the area and an assessment of the proposed
disturbance areas on the ecological values of the Site (as a result
of the extractive industry). It is anticipated that the proposed
development will not impact on the natural Site characteristics
such as native vegetation and natural landforms.
The Site Based Management Plan prepared for the Site
(ATTACHMENT 8) provides a framework for environmental
management and is a practical guide at the operational level to
contain environmental impacts.
