Illuminated Signage
Illuminated signage on this site preform some important functions, retail appeal and downstream of this return some real
benefits to the community in road safety. Service stations are preferred by night time travellers due to then good facilities
and perception of safety.
The site requirements must also be balanced with the impact to neighbouring properties with consideration to their night
time uses. In this case all directly surrounding properties are zoned industrial and it can be reasonably expected that
these properties will not be inhabited during night time hours and if are illuminated sign on this site would not affect their
amenity.

The illuminated signage has been reduced to only impact oncoming traffic on the Bruce Highway specifically, which further
restricts illuminated sign to the south and east faces of the site. This placement will ensure impact of illuminated sign is
only experienced toward the Bruce Highway and away from any residential properties to the west. Any impact on
properties to the east would be minimal due to the long distances and relative low intensity when compared to light levels
emitted from the Bruce Highway.
Noosa Council requires an illuminate sign to emit no more than 300cd/m2. This can be achieved in the design of the
signage and tested to ensure we meet this requirement. It is assumed that all signage on this project will be supplied
below this limit.
