Note, given the size of the site relative to the small scale of the development footprint, this
assessment will only focus on land within 150m of the proposed wedding marquee and access route.

2 SITE DESCRIPTION

2.1 General

The site covers 99.768514ha and is improved with a large macadamia orchard and a farm shed and
associated infrastructure in the southwest corner. Native bushland is present in the northeast corner
and confined to linear riparian corridors in the central site extent.

The site is located in the western extent of Ringtail Creek and zoned Rural within the Noosa Plan
2020.

2.2 Topography

The slope of land is a major determinant of fire behaviour. Fire burns faster as it travels upslope via
preheating of unburnt fuels ahead of the fire front which increases the rate of spread and fireline
intensity. Conversely, fires move more slowly as they travel downslope. Fireline intensity is a function
of the rate of spread (QFES 2019).

The site is located on undulating terrain with multiple aspects generally orientated towards the gullies
in the central site extent. Slopes of approximately 1-6 degrees occur across the site.
