in a managed space where staff can supervise behaviour and maintain noise
control.
e) Noise Complaints and Monitoring System
• Complaint Response Protocol:
o The hotel will establish a dedicated noise complaint hotline, available to nearby
residents. This hotline will be monitored by the duty manager during operational
hours and checked periodically after closing to ensure prompt responses.
o All noise complaints will be logged in an incident register, noting the time, nature
of the complaint, and actions taken. Complaints will be reviewed weekly to
identify patterns and adjust operations if needed.
• Regular Monitoring and Adjustments:
o Noise levels will be monitored continuously using strategically placed noise
meters inside and outside the venue. Data will be reviewed regularly, and
adjustments to sound levels or other noise management strategies will be made
in real-time if readings approach regulatory limits.
o Staff will conduct perimeter checks every hour during peak times to ensure that
sound levels at the venue boundaries remain within acceptable limits and that
patrons in outdoor areas comply with noise restrictions.
f) Engagement with Local Authorities and Community
• Proactive Engagement:
o The hotel will engage with local authorities, including the council and police, to
ensure alignment with noise regulations and to remain informed of any
community concerns. Regular updates will be provided to neighbours and
community associations, such as the Noosa Liquor Accord, outlining the
measures taken to manage and mitigate noise.
o Community feedback sessions will be held quarterly, offering local residents a
platform to discuss concerns and work collaboratively with the venue to
implement solutions that maintain a balance between business operations and
community amenity.
This detailed approach ensures comprehensive noise management, focusing on both indoor
and outdoor activities and the behaviour of patrons as they leave the premises. It aligns with all
RAMP requirements and council expectations, demonstrating a proactive commitment to
maintaining a positive relationship with the community and adhering to regulatory standards.
