c) Motion-Sensor Lighting

   • Use in Non-Essential Areas:

o Motion-sensor lighting will be installed in non-essential areas such as storage
rooms, staff service areas, and back-of-house pathways. These lights will
activate only when movement is detected, enhancing security while conserving
               energy.

o Motion sensors will be calibrated to activate lighting for a limited duration,
ensuring that lights turn off shortly after movement ceases, minimizing
               unnecessary illumination.

   • Perimeter Lighting:

o Perimeter lighting around the property’s boundaries will also be motion-
activated to provide illumination when movement is detected. This enhances
security by deterring unauthorized access while avoiding constant light exposure
               for neighbouring properties.

d) Transport Area Lighting

   • Dedicated Waiting Area Illumination:

o The hotel will establish a designated waiting area for patrons using ride-share
services, taxis, or other transport options. This area will be well-lit to enhance
safety and allow for easy monitoring by security staff.

o Lighting fixtures in this area will be directed downward to avoid glare and ensure
that neighbouring residential areas are not impacted.

   • Parking Lot and Driveway Lighting:

o All parking areas and driveways within the hotel’s premises will be illuminated
using low-level, directional lighting to guide patrons safely to their vehicles while
preventing light from spilling into adjacent properties.

o Timers will be used to control the duration of lighting in these areas, reducing
illumination once the majority of patrons have left, ensuring energy efficiency.

e) Emergency and Backup Lighting

   • Emergency Pathway Lighting:

o Emergency lighting will be installed along all exit routes, including pathways,
staircases, and doorways, to ensure clear visibility during an emergency
evacuation. This lighting will comply with building code requirements for
               emergency safety.

o Emergency lights will be connected to backup power systems to remain
operational during power outages, ensuring continuous visibility and safety for
               patrons and staff.

   • Regular Testing and Maintenance:

o The emergency lighting system will be tested monthly to ensure functionality and
compliance with safety regulations. Logs of all tests and maintenance activities
will be maintained as part of the venue’s WHS compliance documentation.

                                                                                          15 | P a g e
