8. Monitoring and Compliance
To ensure that the hotel operates in accordance with local regulations, RAMP requirements, and
best practice guidelines, a robust monitoring and compliance framework is essential. This
section outlines the procedures and systems that will be implemented to monitor operations,
ensure compliance, and maintain transparency and accountability.
a) Noise Monitoring
• Regular Noise Level Checks:
o The hotel will conduct regular noise level checks using calibrated sound meters
placed at strategic points within and around the premises. These checks will be
conducted hourly during peak times (e.g., evenings, weekends, and during
functions) and logged for review.
o In outdoor areas, particularly terraces and decks, noise levels will be monitored
more frequently to ensure compliance with the Noise Management Plan and
local council regulations.
• Automated Monitoring Systems:
o An automated noise monitoring system will be installed to continuously track
sound levels and alert management if levels approach regulatory limits. This
proactive measure ensures that adjustments can be made in real-time to avoid
exceeding permitted thresholds.
• Reporting and Documentation:
o All noise data collected will be recorded and reviewed weekly by management.
Monthly reports will be compiled, highlighting compliance with noise regulations
and identifying any patterns or incidents requiring further action.
o Noise monitoring results will be made available to regulatory authorities and
community stakeholders upon request, demonstrating the hotel’s commitment
to transparency.
b) CCTV and Surveillance Monitoring
• 24/7 Surveillance:
o The hotel’s CCTV system will provide 24/7 coverage of key areas, including
entrances, exits, bar areas, terraces, and the surrounding perimeter. CCTV
footage will be stored securely for a minimum of 28 days, ensuring availability for
incident review and compliance checks.
o Security staff will monitor live footage during peak operational hours to identify
potential issues quickly and respond effectively.
• Footage Review and Incident Response:
o CCTV footage will be reviewed following any reported incident, such as
complaints about patron behaviour, noise disturbances, or safety breaches. This
review helps verify the incident details and supports the investigation process.
o Security managers will document all footage reviews in an incident log, detailing
findings and any actions taken to resolve issues or prevent recurrence.
