6 Safety Impacts 6.1 Operation of Site Access As per preliminary advice from DTMR, the site access design restricts movements to left‐in / left‐out only. It would be possible for DTMR to provide a central median strip at the time of signalisation of the Diamond Street / Elm Street intersection to further restrict right turn movements. This would, however, impact accessibility of existing parking and properties on the northern side of Diamond Street. 6.2 Sight Lines As the site is restricted to left turn movements, it is only sight lines to the east of the site that are relevant. This sight distance has been measured on‐site as being some 150m. This meets the Safe Intersection Sight Distance requirement of AUSTROADS Part 4a for a 60km/hr design speed and also the minimum requirements for a 70km/hr design speed.
