SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 12 JUNE 2018

Risks & Opportunities
Ongoing Service Provision Risk
Significant community confusion and division has been created over the future of life saving
services and a protracted continuation may impact the goodwill and common ground available to
explore and progress feasible opportunities at Peregian Beach.
Should NHSLSC decide to withdraw its services and no viable alternatives eventuate, SLSQ has
confirmed it would maintain lifesaving patrols at Peregian. SLSQ has also expressed interest in
occupying the club building for a training and administration facility if it becomes vacant. Refer to
SLSQ letter in Attachment 2.
