Peregian Beach Surf Life Saving Club Building
Dear Denis
Thank you for your correspondence sent on the 18" of July regarding the future of the Peregian Surf
Life Saving Club (SLSC) Building.
| wish advise that | have consulted with Surf Life Saving Queensland’s (SLSQ) senior management in ‘
relation to the Peregian SLSC building and can confirm that if Noosa Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) is
unable to continue to fund and manage the facility then SLSQ would be interested in working with
the Council and Noosa SLSC to maintain the existing building to provide a lifesaving operations centre
which would incorporate training and recreation areas, equipment storage, lifeguard supervisors
office, meeting room and bathroom and kitchen amenities.
We wish to confirm that we will support Noosa SLSC wherever possible with the management of the
facility so as to comply with the Council and communities expectations with the use of the facility and
surrounding recreational area.
In relation to any implications for lifesaving services at Peregian Beach, SLSQ wishes to ensure the
Council that we will continue to maintain a lifesaving presence and flagged swimming area utilising a
combination of lifesaving volunteers and lifeguard personal. As you maybe aware this is not only our
commitment to the Noosa Council and community but a commitment we have made to the
Queensland Government that SLSQ will provide weekend services on both Saturday and Sunday
between September and May.
