SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 7 MARCH 2017

Asbestos dumped at Eenie Creek Rd

Camera surveillance of dumping hot spots has continued with six cameras continually deployed
around the known dumping hotspots. Two additional cameras have been ordered. Dumping of
garden waste/vegetation in parks and open space areas has continued to increase. In the
majority of instances officers have not been able to identify those responsible with any degree of
certainty. It is anticipated that this type of dumping will decrease with the introduction of
mandatory green garden waste bins. The cameras will be deployed around known dumping
trouble spots during the upcoming bulk kerbside clean-up.

During the first six months of the 2016/17 financial year officers issued 2 show cause notices, 11
clean up notices, 6 formal warnings and 8 PINs (fines).

website and social media. A very successful E-waste promotion occurred for National Recycling
Week which took place in November.
