In addition to the above, two Talsma Hallam constant head permeability tests were carried out at possible
locations that could be utilised for treated effluent disposal (land application). The results of those tests are
provided in Appendix B, and results are discussed in Section 8.
4.3 Geotechnical laboratory testing
Due to the timeframe required for report completion, geotechnical laboratory testing had not been

5.0 RESULTS OF INVESTIGATION
5.1 Published Geological Information
Published geological information 1 indicates that the site is underlain by Middle Triassic aged Kin Kin Beds
(Rk) comprising “Strongly cleaved and commonly kinked mudstone with thin siltstone laminae; minor
volcanilithic sandstone”. To the south of Moran Group Road, mapping indicates younger Quaternary age
(Qa) “Clay, silt, sand and gravel; flood-plain alluvium”.
A north-west to south-east trending fault line is shown on the mapping (dashed black line), which brings the
Late Triassic – Early Triassic age Myrtle Creek Sandstone (RJdm) formation of “Quartzose sandstone,
orthoquartzite, sublabile to labile sandstone, siltstone, shale” into contact with the Kin Kin Beds.
An extract from the geology mapping is provided in Image 3 below.
