1 Continue implementation of the Local Economic Plan Economic Development Manager Key priority initiatives from LEP progressing, some impact into other areas of Completed Qo
business development and support in response to COVID-19. Throughout Q4
a COVID Response Business Roundtable has been hosted and facilitated by
Noosa Council ensuring strong support and advocacy for businesses
impacted by the COVID shutdowns and restrictions.
2 Undertake a review and update of the Local Economic Economic Development Manager In response to COVID-19 Council developed (and the COVID Business On track @
Plan Roundtable adopted), the COVID Business Support Framework. This
shortterm plan of action, containing 9 workstreams, is an interim strategic
directional program that will lead into a full review and update of the Local
Economic Development Plan.
3 Continue to progress Council's Industry Development Economic Development Manager During the COVID shut down period the co-lab area at the Peregian Digital Completed Qo
Program across our priority sectors focussing on digital, Hub was converted into a PPE 3D manufacturing facility - around 500
education and training Sunshine Coast Public Health Unit approved Sheilds were made and
currently sit ready for use at major medical facilities. In June, as restrictions
started to ease the Digital Hub was reopened and as at 30 June the tenancies
had returned to around 80% of pre-COVID levels. The Noosa Training and
Education Alliance (NETA) continued to operate during the quarter and the
group is focused on advancing the concept of a ‘Future Skills Hub’.
4 Undertake detailed design and tender for the next stage Economic Development Manager Initial layout, use and design options scoped and currently finalising the Behind Schedule 0
of the Peregian Digital Hub (refit of Community House) option within budget. Timing imapcted by Contractor for Community House
stage going into liquidation, flow on impacts to timing as well as COVID
impacts.
