SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 7 FEBRUARY 2017
5. FUTURE DIRECTION
Work has commenced on establishing a new retail area at NLC within the refurbished reception
area. This work was initially delayed due to difficulties in sourcing suppliers who would
accommodate low volume orders. Shop fittings and a variety of products have now been
purchased and will be available for sale shortly.
Remaining capital works projects for 2016/17 have been scheduled for completion and include
an external storage shed, a new stadium floor scrubber and repairs to the café floor tiles.
Continued strengthening of the Group Fitness program.
The NLC Service Review was completed in December 2016. Its recommendations are being
implemented, with recommended actions planned throughout 2017, including the following:
Develop a basic plan outlining preferred paint schemes, carpet colours and furniture styles and
implement over time to achieve consistency in an updated appearance.
Explore the viability of junior learn to play programs and school holiday programs.
Monitor Kids’ Playroom usage trends closely over coming months and if declines continue, give
more serious consideration to alternative uses for this space.
