PLANNING & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 14 OCTOBER 2014

Verrierdale typically consists of larger lots than adjoining Doonan. There are many vegetated
lifestyle lots but also larger lots with rural enterprises. Land is predominantly included in the
Rural Zone without potential for further subdivision. Properties around Doonan Bridge Road
were once under cane and the farming community had links with Valdora and Yandina Creek.

Parts of Verrierdale are subject to flood inundation and there is a large wetland to the south west
of Peregian Springs. There is a sizable conservation park forming the boundary with Eumundi.

Verrierdale had a 2011 population of 698 people, 27.9% of whom were under 20 years of age
and 12.4% were 65 years or over. There was an average of 2.7 persons per household and
median weekly household income was $1,241. Nearly 80% of occupied private dwellings are
owner occupied.

Apart from the hall and tennis courts there is little community infrastructure in Verrierdale and
limited businesses take advantage of exposure from Eumundi Noosa Road. The community has
strong ties with Noosa Shire but also with Eumundi, Coolum and Peregian Springs.

In terms of State electorates Verrierdale is split with the northern portion in Noosa and the
southern (roughly two thirds) being in Nicklin.

Eumundi Range

Situated to the north of Eumundi, and south of Mt Cooroy, Eumundi Range rises sharply to the
north of the railway line and joins with Doonan as well as linking to Tinbeerwah. There is just one
SA1 census district to Eumundi Range (920 hectares in area) and it is shown by the yellow
border on the following map.
