                                                                 withdrawn       in    response      to
                                                                 community and Council feedback
                                                                 and as a result alternative sites were
                                                                 investigated.
                                                                 Candidate C relates to the current
                                                                 proposal and comprises the erection
                                                                 of a 40 m high monopole on a 55 ha
                                                                 parcel of land zoned as ‘Mary River
                                                                 Catchment – Rural Zone’ under The
                                                                 Noosa Plan 2009.

                                                                 A 40 m high monopole in this
                                                                 location is considered to be
                                                                 appropriately located in order to
                                                                 provide coverage to all of the
                                                                 targeted    localities   throughout
                                                                 Cooran, whilst achieving line of site
                                                                 to the other NBN Fixed Wireless
                                                                 Facilities.

 C                                                               This site was determined to be the
                 Lot 12 on RP883248             monopole
                                                                 most appropriate, available location
                                                                 because it provided a significant
                                                                 setback to most of the community by
                                                                 locating it away from nearby
                                                                 dwellings and by co-siting it near the
                                                                 existing High Voltage (HV) power
                                                                 stanchions. A facility at this location
                                                                 will benefit from the existing
                                                                 vegetation on the property and
                                                                 within the wider area, which will
                                                                 reduce potential visual impacts of
                                                                 the facility in the surrounding area.
                                                                 For these reasons, Candidate C was
                                                                 considered the most viable option
                                                                 and has been selected as the prime
                                                                 candidate.
