It is anticipated that potential views towards the facility from the closest dwellings will be
mitigated and reduced by the following factors:
     • The facility has been set back approximately 445 m from the closest existing
         residential dwelling and near to mature vegetation (approximately 10-15 m high),
         which will provide some screening of the facility when viewed from the south;
     • The proposed facility will be silhouetted by the existing vegetated backdrop which
         will further reduce its visual impact on the local landscape when viewed from the
         closest dwelling and from the north of the site;
     • The steep and undulating topography of the surrounding area will further reduce
         the visibility of the facility; and
     • The wider area also contains existing man-made elements, including the existing
         Powerlink easement which traverses the subject property, and will assist with
         visually integrating the monopole within its surroundings. The closest stanchion is
         located the subject property, approximately 230 m north of the proposed facility, in
         direct line of view with the closest residential dwelling.

Figure 8.4 illustrates the rural character of the area and the locations of the photographs
taken to demonstrate the potentials views of the proposed facility from the surrounding
area.
