INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 23 JUNE 2015
Play Surface
The rubber softfall matting covering the concrete is breaking away and separating at the joints of
the different colours and patterns. It is proposed in the construction of the renewed softfall that a
single pour of softfall occurs which will eliminate these current joint failures.
Due to the patterned finish the initial construction required separate pours of the rubber softfall
matting to achieve this affect. However, this resulted in significant volumes of joints where water
penetrated and caused isolated failures which escalated into overall failures of the softfall
material.
Central spray toy
The red and yellow water spout (central Spray toy) in the middle of the spray park area is
crumbling at the base. Children climb on the ball which has attributed to the deterioration of this
asset. It is proposed a more suitable, fit for purpose and better quality toy be selected when
renewing.
The central spray feature is crumbling and is currently held together with tape and screws
