ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF PERSONNEL INVOLVED IN ECOLOGICAL MANAGEMENT 1-10
In summary, the ERP contractor will be required to undertake fortnightly monitoring of the ERP
implementation including assessment of planted stock, weed control effectiveness and extent of
implementation against the predetermined implementation program.
The Restoration Ecologist will undertake monthly monitoring for the first year of the ERP
implementation area as described in the ERP. Monitoring will then be quarterly for years 2, 3 and 4.
1.10 Reporting
Monthly reports on all aspects of the ERP and environmental compliance monitoring are to be
prepared and submitted by the ERP Contractor to the Project Manager. The ERP describes the
particular reporting requirements in terms of the ERP implementation (Section 4.1.7 of ERP) while
additional information will need to be provided to the Project Manager as follows:
• Any environmental incidents
• Any complaints received
• Results of monitoring presented in the subsequent sections of this EMP
• Details of induction/ training conducted
• Liaison with RHD/RSL Principal Contractor.
The Restoration Ecologist will similarly report to the Project Manager on a 3-monthly basis as
described in Section 4.1.7. Reporting shall continue until such time as the ERP Contractor quits the
site. There will be monthly (as a minimum) liaison between the ERP Contractor, Restoration
Ecologist, Wildlife Ecologist and Project Manager.
All monitoring data, inspection reports, certificates, photographic records and other associated
information and documentary evidence shall be kept on file and be available for Council officers to
inspect at any time.
It should be noted that the water quality monitoring program for the pre-construction and construction
phases of EMP’s 1 and 2 includes monitoring sites within the ERP implementation area. Such
monitoring will be carried out under a separate consultancy contract administered by the Principal for
the Settlers Cove development. The ERP Contractor is to ensure that access to the monitoring sites by
approved personnel is available and that the monitoring sites are not to be disturbed. Should any weed
control or vegetation maintenance be required in proximity to these sites (ie. within 20m or adjacent
to a water body that may affect sampling results), then the ERP Contractor is to advise the Project
Manager who will then advise the Superintendent for the Construction program. Any ERP measures
should not be undertaken until clearance has been given by the Superintendent.
1.11 Review and Audit of EMP
On-going monitoring, reviewing and auditing of the EMP 3 is to be the responsibility of the ERP
Contractor.
Auditing of the success of the EMP will be conducted by a person qualified to do so and will be
appointed by the Project Manager. It is likely that the Wildlife Ecologist will be nominated to
