OPERATIONAL PHASE 5-3
Strategy: Implement appropriate inspection and maintenance regimes to ensure optimum
ongoing function of all stormwater and water quality maintenance features.
Actions to be as follows:
Developer
1. Carry out monitoring of surface water quality at locations indicated in Appendix D (and as
advised by Superintendent) in accordance with the monitoring section of this element of the
EMP (see Element C.5 (b).
2. Monitoring parameters for sampling for surface waters to be as per Construction program (refer
Element C.5(b). Frequency of monitoring to be every third month and after significant rainfall
events (at least two per year) for a period of 3 years from the final stage of construction.
3. Carry out monitoring of water quality at a minimum of three (3) developed allotments rapid
infiltration pits for a minimum period of one year after establishment of the subject allotments
community management statement. The pits to be monitored are to be determined in liaison with
Council.
4. Monitoring parameters and frequencies for rapid infiltration pits will be as indicated in Element
C.5 (b) with sampling to be conducted after each significant rainfall event (>50mm/day) with a
minimum of two sampling events per year. Baseline water quality compliance levels will be
determined from the baseline monitoring of infiltration conducted during the preconstruction and
construction program.
5. The Landscape Master Plan provides details on swale species and establishment procedures.
Details on the monitoring and maintenance procedures for swales and the timing of such
monitoring are described below in Maintenance Procedures - Swales.
