in its programs and execute its digital ecosystem organisation strategy, the Hub will require
additional resourcing.
Council is preparing a grant application for the Regional Startup Hubs Support Program - this
grant does not require matched funding and if successful will be used to invest in a support
resource that will assist with program management. This grant was submitted at the end of
January 2019.
5. SYSTEMS, PROCESSES AND OTHER MATTERS
The Hub uses a cloud-based co-work management platform which automates subscription billing
for members, allows for ad-hoc billing (e.g. meeting rooms, etc.) and resource bookings.
The Hub has used a suboptimal collection of tools to manage its customer database and email
communications - this should be replaced in February by a dedicated CRM solution being
procured by Economic Development team for department-wide use.
The Hub will implement an asset management plan by end of March to ensure effective and
proactive maintenance of the Hub facilities into the future.
6. HUB PROGRAMS
In less than 7 months of operation, the Hub has delivered an ambitious slate of capacity-building
activities which have generated significant value for Noosa’s digital sector and provided a
valuable public service to the broader Noosa community. These include:
A GovHack weekend which led to a new model of Council/Community collaboration and
delivered a new traffic management system for the holiday period
Hosting monthly networking events for key digital industry groups, including technologists,
creatives and blockchain professionals
Curating educational/skills programs to inspire and develop young talent
