SERVICES & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 12 FEBRUARY 2019

Leadership Events
Steve Baxter
The HubLunch series consists of quarterly events where a technology thought-leader is invited to
address a group of key influencers in the Noosa community with the purpose of sharing big ideas
that lift the level of literacy around entrepreneurship, new technology or major trends.
In August over 100 members of the local technology and digital community came to hear a
fireside chat with Steve Baxter (Queensland Chief Entrepreneur and Shark Tank star) and Ian
Mason (Virgin start-up).

Andy McAfee
In October, the Hub hosted economist and best-selling author Andrew McAfee, a distinguished
professor at the Sloan School at MIT where he studies how technological progress changes
business, the economy, and society.
McAfee shared insights from his research about the future of work, which underpinned his best-
selling books "The Second Machine Age" (2014) and "Machine | Platform | Crowd" (2017) a
manual for leaders on how technology progress is rewriting the business playbook.
