PLANNING & ORGANISATION COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 21 JULY 2015
A new map showing updated Koala Habitat is to be included as Schedule 7, showing the general
extent of known and potential habitat to support the provisions of the Biodiversity Overlay Code.
e) Bushfire Mapping
New bushfire mapping has been prepared by the State and reflects a more rigorous methodology
than in the past. Staff have been working with the State to help verify its accuracy and ensure its
suitability for the planning scheme. The mapping is proposed to replace the existing bushfire
hazard mapping in the Natural Resources Overlay.
Some minor amendments have also been made to the Natural Hazards Overlay Code for
bushfire to align with the new mapping terminology.
f) Priority Infrastructure Plan & Charges
The State has requested removal of water supply and sewerage provisions (i.e. standards of
service, plans for trunk infrastructure) and mapping from the Priority Infrastructure Plan (PIP) and
for these details to be replaced by references to the Unitywater Water Netserv Plan.
Staff agree that these changes should be completed now to reflect the current water and
sewerage arrangements as this would be helpful in avoiding any potential conflict between the
PIP and the Unitywater Water Netserv Plan.
In addition the Minister opposed proposed amendments in use codes that requested new
infrastructure be delivered “at no cost to Council” and this phrase has therefore been deleted.
3. Procedural Requirements
The process for making or amending a planning scheme is set out in Statutory Guideline 04/14.
