Refuse Summary
The generation rates used for the calculation of non-residential refuse produced have been applied based on
rates recommended by Sunshine Coast Council. These rates have been adopted as they are more current and
are provided in volumetric units.

The collection frequency for the new hotel will be as per existing conditions but serviced by Council instead of
a private contractor. Both general and commingled recycling will retain a collection frequency of 7 days per
week for general waste and 2 days a week for recycling. Provisions for this collection frequency have been
organised with Council.

Note the calculations below are based on a 100% hotel occupancy rate. This satisfies the requirement for
development consent but is not reflective of actual refuse generation which is expected to be less than
estimated.
