How did we engage?
To involve as many residents, businesses, students, and other stakeholders as possible, Noosa
Council undertook what was arguably one of its most comprehensive campaigns to date,
achieving a combined audience reach of more than 200,000.
This means that in a population of almost 60,000 people, the community engagement process
provided multiple opportunities for all residents to participate and delivered one of the most
extensive and qualitative participation levels undertaken by Noosa Council to date.

Who did we engage?
Collectively, we’ve engaged with over 3,000 locals, businesses, and young people – spanning all
parts of Noosa and representing all age groups and demographics.
The feedback we received from the community, which underpins our Guiding Principles and
Implementation Plan, is statistically valid, meaning that the insights we’ve gathered, accurately
reflect the broader Noosa community – across locations, age groups and backgrounds.
With a 95% confidence level, we can be assured that the actions outlined in the Destination
Management Plan are grounded in what our community has told us matters most to them.
What Matters Most
Our community consistently told us about their top priorities for Noosa’s Destination
Management Plan.
These priorities shaped the development of our guiding principles, each of which is supported
by a key strategy and a set of actions that will be regularly monitored to measure progress and
demonstrate success.
