Noosa Council
Noosa Carparking Study 2017 - 2032
Final Report
Medium-term
Reduce the range between parking minimums and parking maximums, through consideration of observed
parking supply demand by developers, and the impact of adjusted parking minimum requirements on
utilisation of parking provisions in the region, best practise parking rate recommendations and the longer-
term planning for parking management in Noosa Shire.
Long-term
Implement parking maximums for key locations and development types in Noosa Shire, specifically Business
Centre Zones, Neighbourhood Centre Zones or Village Mix Zones. Parking maximums will be determined
through consideration of observed parking supply demand by developers, and the impact of adjusted
parking minimum requirements on utilisation of parking provisions in the region, best practise parking rate
recommendations and the longer-term planning for parking management in Noosa Shire.
Implement transferable parking entitlements at locations where parking maximums have been implemented.
Parking Rate Benchmarking
Parking requirements detailed in the Noosa Plan (2006) were evaluated against other, similarly situated regional
councils in SEQ. These have been summarised in Figure E-1 and Figure E-2.
