Additionally, the implementation of real-time information on parking availability and directional signage to the
Noosa Woods carpark, can improve traffic circulation along Hastings Street. In particular, real-time parking
availability information placed before Hastings Street (eastern roundabout intersection) would alert drivers to a
parking availability (or lack thereof), reducing overall traffic circulation through Hastings Street, particularly
during peak periods. Potential locations for real-time parking availability signs is shown in Figure 5-1.

In the longer-term, there are opportunities for Noosa Council to, in conjunction with private businesses,
implement publicly available car-share services and green travel plans in the Hastings Street area as an
alternative to private vehicle travel.

In order to demonstrate the impacts of these demand management interventions graphically, the following
assumptions have been made:
 The implementation of priced parking in 2020 (alongside the implementation of dynamic parking
        information); and
 An associated reduction in parking demand of between 10% and 30% (as per Table 5-3).

Based on the above assumptions, the following potential change in parking demand could be realised for the
Hastings Street centre, as shown in Figure 5-1.
