Final Report
Figure 5-7: Noosaville Parking Demand Management Intervention
Such minor parking demand management interventions would be sufficient to meet the projected Noosaville
centre parking demand up to the 2031 horizon year.
5.4.6 Peregian Beach
The current parking supply at Peregian Beach is not expected to be fully utilised by the 2031 horizon year,
although an additional 29 carparks would be required by 2031 to achieve the ideal utilisation rate of 85%. It
should be noted that the Peregian Beach centre has reached expected development capacity under the 2006
Noosa Plan and, therefore, any increase in parking demand is likely to arise from background residential
population growth.
There is the potential for improved parking information by way of real-time information and signage outside
Kingfisher Carpark (near Grebe Street) and Kingfisher Drive Carpark to improve vehicle circulation and reduce
congestion.
In order to demonstrate the impacts of these demand management interventions graphically, the following
assumptions have been made:
The implementation of directional signage and adjustments in parking time-limits in 2029; and
An associated reduction in parking demand of between 5% and 10% (as per Table 5-3).
Based on the above assumptions, the following potential change in parking demand could be realised for the
Peregian Beach centre, as shown in Figure 5-7.
