Noosa Car Parking Study 2017 - 2032
Final Report
5.4.9 Tewantin
Current carparking demand within the Tewantin centre was observed to be 77% overall. There is, however,
significant variation in parking utilisation in different precincts within the centre. Parking adjacent to RSL
Memorial Park is highly utilised while Blakesley Street parking is underutilised. Tewantin’s on-street parking
demand is not expected to exceed the target utilisation rate or existing parking supply up to 2031, as such no
parking demand management measures are required.
It is observed, however, that relative carparking utilisation can be improved via a through conversion on a
portion of land into carparking and provision of a connection between the carparks off Sidoni Street and
Doonella Street. Such a connection could potential provide approximately 37 carparks (44 new spaces minus 7
lost spaces along the western boundary of the eastern lot). A potential concept is shown in Figure 5-9.

It should be noted that a development application has been approved for the site identified above, which would
inhibit a connection between the two existing carparks and associated additional carparks. It is understood that
a pedestrian easement has been secured at the rear of the site, which could marginally improve relative
utilisation levels between the two carparks, if accompanied by appropriate signage.
