2.3 NOISE MODELLING
    2.3.1 METHODOLOGY

To enable assessment of noise from the proposed poultry farm, a detailed noise
model has been established using the SoundPLAN 7.3 software applying the
ISO9613 standard. This model is an accepted regulatory model that allows input
of terrain specific data and source noise data as sound power level spectra.

The model was established over an area of 5.5km x 5.5km including the subject
site and the surrounding sensitive receptors. The terrain within the model domain
was derived from 3 arc-second NASA Shuttle Radar Topography Mission
    (SRTM) digital elevation data.

The noise modelling undertaken considered meteorological conditions as per the
methodology of the ISO9613 standard, with a temperature of 10 degrees Celsius2
and 70% humidity, a temperature inversion and the following wind conditions as
per the worst-case assumptions of ISO9613:

As such, given the above meteorological assumptions, it is considered that the
results of the noise modelling represent the resultant noise levels of the proposed
development during worst-case noise propagation conditions.

The SoundPLAN 7.3 model was setup to represent noise emissions from the
following scenarios representing continuous ventilation fan noise and intermittent
    catch-out and feed delivery noise:

‘high ambient temperature’ scenario
