An Eco-cabin under the Noosa North Shore Eco-Tourism Portal was defined as:
Visitor accommodation in the form of self-contained free standing dwelling units.
While the existing buildings on the subject land are referred to as Eco-cabins under the
development permits, each building is effectively a large dwelling and is not what would normally
be expected when describing a cabin. Many of the Eco-Cabins are 2 storeys in height, contain fully
operational kitchen facilities and laundry facilities, are 3 or more bedrooms, including master
bedrooms with on suite, double garages, living and entertaining areas, along with multiple deck
areas. For all intensive purposes, the Eco-Cabins are not cabins as would normally be expected for
visitor accommodation, but are relatively large dwellings.
Under the Table of Assessment for the Visitor Mixed Use Zone, a Detached House is subject to
impact assessment; however it is noted that all residential uses are subject to impact assessment in
this zone.

affordable housing;
