Sulfate Soils
While the above overlay maps apply to the land, in this case the proposed development does not
involve any new building work, being an alternative use for the existing dwellings. Consequently, the
matters of vegetation removal, bushfire management and the management of acid sulfate soils have
been dealt with under the former preliminary approval and subsequent development permits for
material change of use.
6.4 Other Codes
The other code that would ordinarily be considered include the Detached House Code. Again an
assessment against this code is of little benefit given that the proposed development seeks to utilise
the existing dwellings on the land with no other building work being proposed.
The overall outcomes are the purpose of the Detached House Code. The overall outcomes sought
by the Detached House Code are to ensure that detached houses:
a) only occur on land that is suited for the intended form of development and the occupation and
use of the building and site by the residents.
b) are only developed on land which is not located in the vicinity of land uses:
