2. Environmental Noise Criteria
Noosa Council requires that the noise levels from Village Bicycle do not exceed the limits
presented in Table 2.1, at the nearest noise sensitive receptors.
Table 2.1 Noise Criteria
Criteria
Period Objective
(LAeq,adj,T)1
Day 55
Background noise level (LA90,T)2 + 5dB(A)
(7:00am to 6:00pm) (50 + 5)
Evening 50
Background noise level (LA90,T) + 5dB(A)
(6:00pm to 10:00pm) (45 + 5)
Night 43
Background noise level (LA90,T) + 3dB(A)
(10:00pm to 7:00am) (40 + 3)
3. Noise Propagation Modelling
The SoundPLAN noise propagation model was modified as follows:
Height of the acoustic fence on the north-eastern boundary of the café was raised to 2.6
metres.
The calculated noise levels at the nearest apartments at No. 1 Bottlebrush Avenue, considering
patron and music noise emissions from Village Bicycle café when operating at full occupancy (1-
hour period of highest noise), are presented in Table 3.1 and Appendix A.
