The outcome of this development design ensures that a functional streetscape remains that provides safety,
amenity, connectivity, legibility and permeability for all modes of transport and movement alike. The proposal
also appropriately provides for secure cycling storage and motorcycling parking as part of the development,
as outlined further in Appendix E.
Natural Hazards and Resilience
The proposal is considerate of natural hazards, creating resilient and adaptive development that mitigates or
reduces risk where necessary. As informed by the bushfire report prepared for this development (Appendix
I), the proposal provides a management plan for the site that gives several mitigation measures to minimise
harm, with key aspects such as safe and efficient access and egress possible for both evacuation and
emergency service needs. Where other hazards such as acid sulfate soils may arise, these can be
appropriately addressed as part of further soils investigation (Council may wish to condition this
requirement).
As such, the development provides a design and siting that appropriately responds to the natural hazard
risks as discussed in the relevant reporting to support this proposal.
