5. Bushfire Considerations by Developable Area Unit
Plan 32310.10 delineates five areas requiring assessment for any Bushfire Constraints
and recommended actions.

Area 1
This small area is largely cleared adjoining Eenie Creek Road. (see Photograph No. 7)

There are no bushfire requirements for this 3,375m2 unit.

Area 2
This triangular area of 2.6ha includes a cleared power line easement of almost 7,000m2.
(see Photograph No. 8)

It is carrying fuel loads in excess of 10 tonne/ha and would benefit from a fuel reduction
burn.

In reality it is in close proximity to Eenie Creek Road and Walter Hay Road and any fire
would cause considerable disruption from smoke generation.

The risk of an unplanned fire is from the National park to the east and north. Any fire will
be defended on the power line easement but the planned burning of this unit would be a
sound long term management outcome.

To achieve this active management would require a cooperative effort with the National
Park. This would necessitate discussions with National Park personnel re the practicality
of any fuel reduction on this area. The timing and costs etc. will depend on National Park’s
reaction to the proposal. (see Summary and Costs)

Area 3
This small area (8,000m2) is 50-60% cleared and surrounded by roads and existing
development.
