Civic
1. Introduction
A large parcel of land south of Eenie Creek Road down to Eenie Creek was proposed in
2004 for a multi stage commercial development. (see Master Plan and Aerial Photograph
No. 1)
This development was approved (with conditions) and development of Noosa Civic
Shopping Centre and other industrial stages in the western area have proceeded.
In 2012 the Noosa Civic Shopping Centre and undeveloped adjoining lands was
purchased by the Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC). (see Plan 32310.10)
The undeveloped areas originally scheduled for expansion of the precinct are now to
remain in their current condition for the immediate future. A review of the bushfire status
along with the compliance requirements and recommended mitigating actions are the
subject of this report.
2. Description of the Site
2.1 History
Prior to 2003 the site had been partially cleared and enjoyed a range of uses. In 2003 an
unplanned bushfire burnt the entire site. (see Photograph Nos. 1 – 4 in 2004 Bushfire
Management Plan)
There has been no burning on any of the site since this time.
2.2 Development Approval
The staged development approval (2004) included a condition of adherence to the
Bushfire Management Plan of The Consultancy Bureau Pty Ltd dated September 2004.
