5. TRAFFIC GUIDANCE SCHEMES
5.1 SCHEDULE OF TRAFFIC GUIDANCE SCHEMES (TGS)
Table 1 (below) contains the suite of TGS developed for BBN-ELANDA-SB-UD-01works these are located in Appendix J.
In accordance with MRTS02.1, all TGS will be sent to the Client a minimum of 21 days prior to implementation for information
and/or approval. Any TGS that results in a change in the number of lanes or change to the posted speed will in addition require
approval from the client.

5.2 TRAFFIC GUIDANCE SCHEME DIAGRAMS AND NOTES
All TGS must be implemented as per the “Optimal Treatment” set out in the MUTCD Part 3, with modifications to “Optimal
Treatments” restricted as per clause 4.1.6 Tolerances and Positioning, unless Risk Assessed and signed off by a RPEQ.

All TGS implementations are subject to the Risk Assessment process and requirements.
     ➢ QGTTM Part 3 Work on Roads and AGTTM (various Parts) “Optimal Treatment” requirements are:
          (a) AGTTM Part 10 Section 2 - Risk Management
          (b) Clause 1.9 MUTCD Part3 – Variation to Optimal Treatment
          (c) AGTTM Part 2 – Traffic Management Planning
          (d) AGTTM Part 3 - Static work sites
          (e) AGTTM Part 3 Section 3 – Around the worksite
          (f) AGTTM Part 3 Section 4 – Through the worksite
          (g) AGTTM Part 3 Section 5 – Past the worksite
          (h) AGTTM Part 3 Section 6.5 – Shoulder as a temporary lane
          (i) AGTTM Part 3 Section 6.10 – Placement and operation of VMS

    ➢ Traffic Controllers to assist pedestrians while vehicles enter and exit the work zone. (Road Close/Detour).
    ➢ Delivery vehicles are to enter the site via the Ferguson St end of the site and exit towards Pacific Ave.
    ➢ Signage to be duplicated where indicated.
    ➢ All conflicting signage to be covered.
    ➢ Worker Symbolic signs to be covered when workers are not working or are not visible.
    ➢ Road surface correction process is to completed moving towards Ferguson St with vehicles entering from Pacific Ave
      under TC control.
    ➢ Traffic controllers to comply with QGTTM, AGTTM, MUTCD Pt 3 and TCASAP requirements.
    ➢ Permanent Signage to be installed at least 2m but not more than 5m, from the base of the sign to the travelled path as
      per MUTCD Clause 4.3.2 – Positioning of devices.

5.3 SIGNAGE AND DEVICE LIST
Each individual TGS includes an inventory list of the signs and devices that are required.

All signage and devices are to be supplied by BBN CONSTRUCTIONS, or a certified Traffic Management Implementation company
engaged by BBN CONSTRUCTIONS. Should BBN CONSTRUCTIONS wish to engage such an entity, it remains the responsibility of
BBN CONSTRUCTIONS to ensure that this TMP be delivered in its entirety to said entity at least 7 days prior to commencement
of works to allow time to ensure availability of required equipment i.e. signs, controls and devices.

Replacement equipment should be readily available on site as a contingency for damage or defective signage.
