         •       Any use of Power generators on site are to be positioned as far away as practical, to
                 minimize noise emissions to neighbouring property.


    8.       AIR QUALITY AND DUST MANAGEMENT
The generation of noise, dust and vibration will be minimised in accordance with industry best practice and
outlined below:

         •       Site induction to address the issue of air quality and protective measures to prevent
                 avoidable discharge of contaminant to the atmosphere.
         •       All materials deliveries such as fill, soil, sand, gravel, landscaping supplies etc, are
                 transported to the site under covered loads.
         •       Stockpiles of such materials are dampened down or covered as necessary.
         •       Excavation material is transported from site in covered trucks.
         •       Work areas are swept free of dust regularly.
         •       All plant and equipment are operated and maintained in accordance with acceptable
                 industry standards.
         •       Two-way radios are used for site signalling and communication.
         •       Putrescible waste, from messing activities, is promptly removed from site.
         •       External paint spraying activities are undertaken in accordance with Local Authority
                 requirements and not carried out during adverse weather conditions.
         •       A Water is to be used to suppress dust on site as required.


    9.       CONSULTATION
The Principal Contractor shall undertake to advise adjacent property owners/managers to the timing and
duration of activities likely to affect them. A list of adjoining properties owners out-of-hours contact
numbers shall be maintained on the project records together with notations of pertinent advises.


    10. PUBLIC COMPLAINTS
The Principal Contractor’s Project Manager and/or the Foreman or other appointed representative shall
investigate all public complaints, which shall be recorded on the project records. A non-conformance report
will detail the nature of any complaint and the proposed course of action considered necessary. The
Superintendent shall be notified immediately of any public complaint. Where considered appropriate the
Superintendent shall notify the Client or the Client’s Representative of complaints received. Complaints
received by the Client or the Client’s Representative may also be registered on the projects records and be
subject to investigations by the Superintendent as appropriate. Records of all non-conformance reports shall
be kept on site.


    11. ENVIRONMENTAL INCIDENTS
Should an environmental incident occur during the course of the works the Contractor shall ensure that it
takes prompt action to minimize any impact and inform the Client or the Client’s Representative accordingly.
A non-conformance report will detail the nature of the environmental incident and the proposed course of
action considered necessary. Subcontractors who become aware of an environmental incident shall report
the matter to the Head Contractor in the first instance.
