GENERAL COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 16 JANUARY 2017
Finance & Risk
A local government is required to have a Corporate Plan under the Local Government Act. A good
Corporate Plan helps set a clear direction for the organisation and a poor one runs the risk of
inconsistent long term planning and a lack of consensus about a strategic direction.
Consultation
External Consultation - Community & Stakeholder
The draft Corporate Plan was published for comment via the Your Say Noosa website. A media
release was also publicised to encourage the community to comment on the draft Corporate Plan.
The CEO also took the opportunity to raise the draft Corporate Plan with a number of community
groups when meeting with them during the consultation period.
Internal Consultation
The development of the draft Corporate Plan has involved input and consultation with the Mayor
and Councillors via a series of facilitated workshops, review by the Leadership Team and the
opportunity for input from managers and staff. The draft Corporate Plan was also provided to all
staff for comment.
