INFRASTRUCTURE & SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING AGENDA 8 DECEMBER 2015
Black Mountain Clean up
Kinmond Creek Road
Steel Pile Week 1 Eumundi Rd
3. Workplace Health and Safety
There were no work place health and safety incidents reported and no complaints from the public.
It is recommended that Council and the Contractor continue to provide PPE and staff briefings prior
to kerbside to minimise the risk of injury.
4. Recommendations for Future Programs
a) Given the significant cost and logistics of undertaking the Service combined with poor
recycling outcomes, consideration needs to be given as to whether the service should occur
annually or every two years.
b) Consideration be given to special promotions or open days at the tips prior to the next Service
to accept re-usable items, e-waste, tyres and green waste.
c) Green waste, either be collected separately, or be excluded from the Service as it becomes
contaminated and unsuitable for recycling and reuse.
d) Provision should be made in the next Waste Contract for the contractor to provide a flatbed
truck to be utilised for the collection of e-waste.
