3. Sentiment around the importance of the Draft Waste Plan actions to
• Encourage personal responsibility for items people no longer want or need.
• Advocate to reduce waste at the source.
• Be innovative in litter prevention.
• Ensure that appropriate infrastructure and operations are in place to support waste
reuse and recycling.
• Minimise the use of virgin materials to create new products.
• Reduce the cost to the community of landfilling material that could be utilised as a
resource with potential revenue generation.
The Draft Waste Plan and feedback survey will be available for download from the Waste Your Say
website. A hard copy of the Draft Waste Plan & survey will also be available at the Council
administration building in Tewantin. Posters will be installed at Council facilities with a QR code
directing people to the Waste Your Say website. People will be able to register an "expression of
interest” via the Waste Your Say website or via customer service if they would like to discuss the
Draft Waste Plan with staff.
