9.6        Measuring and Testing Equipment
Equipment that is used by Fore Group and/or contractors for setting out, checking, testing, commissioning, etc. must be
in a known state of calibration to ensure that measurements are valid. The Project Team is to issue an equipment
calibration for equipment on site that is subject to calibration.
Requirements for measuring and testing are established during the project Principal Risk Assessment (PRA) and identified
within the project risk register.
The Project Team is responsible to include equipment subject to calibration in the Calibration Register, which forms part
of the Plant and Equipment Register. Inspection test dates must be recorded and regularly reviewed to ensure that
equipment that is used for measuring has been calibrated and is fit for purpose.
Each item of equipment must be suitably tagged to show its current calibration status. Inspection or test records and the
equipment calibration record must clearly identify the specific equipment used (type, make, serial number, calibration
status etc.).
Prior to each use, equipment must be inspected for operating condition, current calibration, obvious damage etc.
Equipment must be stored in accordance with manufacturers recommendations.
Refer Risk Register and applicable SWMS for specific trade activities where equipment calibration and maintenance is
required.
